Job Overview

Position Summary:

KnowledgeWorks Foundation is dedicated to revolutionizing the K-12 educational landscape through a strategic five-year initiative aimed at fostering equitable learning opportunities for all students. Our mission is to support select regions in implementing personalized, competency-based education, demonstrating its effectiveness and impact.

The Impact and Improvement team plays a vital role in achieving KnowledgeWorks' transformation objectives by offering evaluation support, driving continuous enhancement, and interpreting data to inform the educational community about personalized learning. We adopt a collaborative research methodology that emphasizes the co-creation and meaningful application of high-quality data, ensuring equity in data practices while valuing the expertise of our team and partners. Our efforts are directed both externally with our collaborators and internally within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management
  • Oversee the planning and execution of research initiatives, ensuring compliance with timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
  • Organize, schedule, and lead project meetings, documenting discussions and tracking action items.
  • Work closely with project team members to guarantee that objectives are met.
  • Maintain project schedules and milestones utilizing the KnowledgeWorks project management system.
  • Provide regular project updates to stakeholders.
  • Manage research contracts, budgets, and financial documentation.
  • Develop and refine standard operating procedures.
Data Management
  • Facilitate ongoing data collection related to program activities to assess outputs, outcomes, and overall impact.
  • Organize and sustain KnowledgeWorks' data repositories, establishing effective data management practices to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Oversee routine data reporting to support both internal and external initiatives.
  • Create and maintain data visualization tools for staff and partners.
  • Assist in the coordination of a comprehensive data infrastructure project aimed at tracking program delivery and measuring impact.
  • Support the implementation of continuous improvement and change management strategies across various initiatives.
Applied Research
  • Assist in synthesizing and interpreting both quantitative and qualitative data to generate actionable insights, including conducting literature reviews and drafting research documentation.
  • Contribute to grant applications, ethical review submissions, and conference presentations.
  • Support internal and external partners in data interpretation.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and research in K-12 educational innovation.
Team Support
  • Engage in team priorities and processes within the Impact and Improvement team.
  • Collaborate with other KnowledgeWorks teams on research and strategy development.
  • Manage special projects that require timely attention.
  • Participate in various committees and team meetings as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 3 years of experience or equivalent qualifications.
  • Project management certification preferred, including but not limited to PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP, or PgMP.
  • Proficiency in project management software.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and office productivity applications.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and/or applied research.
  • Strong understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing, editing, and presenting information effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple projects and priorities.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies that enhance research and organizational effectiveness.
