Patient Accounts Specialist

Overview
The Atlantic Region CBO is seeking a skilled Patient Accounts Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare business office, you will be responsible for resolving patient account inquiries and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities- Respond to patient and insurance company inquiries regarding account status and resolution.
- Document all internal and external inquiries, including patient and third-party payer interactions.
- Root cause issues and attempt to resolve them in a timely manner.
- Communicate resolution to patients and guarantors as necessary.
- Escalate complex issues to management for assistance and resolution.
- Work with internal departments to investigate and resolve issues associated with patient or insurance company inquiries.
- Maintain a working knowledge of our call routing system and patient accounting system.
- High school diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years of customer service experience preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Customer-focused with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with customer service and 1-3 years of healthcare business office experience preferred.
