Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Specialist to join our team at PrideStaff Portland. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for producing and sending invoices, matching invoices to work orders, reconciling and documenting financial information, generating billing statements and reports, compiling and sorting invoices and checks, filing and tallying deposits, processing bills for payment, and arranging and organizing deposits.

In addition to these tasks, the successful candidate will also assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual audits, review and reconcile the general ledger regularly, monitor aging reports, interact with clients on the phone, email, and in person, maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations at all times, and maintain constant communication with the Senior Accountant and our clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with a minimum of 3 years experience as an accountant or bookkeeper in a corporate setting. A degree in Accounting or a relevant field is required. The candidate must also have knowledge of the principles of bookkeeping and accounting procedures, as well as familiarity with Quickbooks, Sage 300, and financial statements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce and send invoices as quickly and accurately as possible
  • Match invoices to work orders; reconcile and document
  • Generate billing statements and reports
  • Compile and sort invoices and checks, file and tally deposits, process bills for payment, and arrange and organize deposits
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual audits
  • Review and reconcile the general ledger regularly
  • Monitor aging reports
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years experience as an accountant or bookkeeper in a corporate setting
  • Knowledge of the principles of bookkeeping and accounting procedures
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks, Sage 300, and financial statements
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and databases
