Position: Facility Security Officer at DCS

Overview:

DCS Corp is in search of a dedicated and skilled Facility Security Officer (FSO) to enhance our security team in Columbus, OH. As a recognized leader in providing innovative technology solutions across various sectors including Defense, Aerospace, Human Factors, and Security, we pride ourselves on our employee-owned culture.

Key Responsibilities:

In the role of Facility Security Officer, you will:

  • Conduct orientations and briefings for new hires, as well as security investigations.
  • Maintain comprehensive security records related to employees, facilities, and contracts.
  • Process security clearance applications and monitor status through the Defense Information Security System (DISS).
  • Oversee daily security operations in compliance with National Industrial Security System (NISS) regulations.
  • Implement effective physical security measures to protect classified materials.
  • Perform regular self-inspections to ensure adherence to security protocols and report findings to senior management.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing visit requests and oversee classified meetings.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for security-related inquiries.
  • Assist employees with personal issues that may impact their security clearance.
  • Prepare and submit Incident Reports and Security Violations Reports as necessary.
  • Participate in DCSA audits and keep management informed of security activities and potential issues.
  • Support the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in ensuring compliance and system accreditation.
  • Occasionally provide general office and facility support as needed.
  • Be prepared for some short-term travel as required.

Qualifications:

Due to the sensitive nature of this position, U.S. Citizenship is mandatory. Candidates should possess:

  • An Associate degree in Security Management or a related field, along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant security experience.
  • Strong communication skills in both written and verbal English.
  • A collaborative spirit and a positive attitude towards learning.

Preferred Attributes:

While not mandatory, the following qualifications are desirable:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a security-related discipline.
  • Experience with DISS, NISS, and e-QIP systems.
  • Familiarity with DCSA procedures and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Certification in the FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities Course.
  • An active security clearance at the Secret level or higher.
