Operations Manager

Small Cheval, a division of Hogsalt, is seeking a committed and seasoned Full Time General Manager to oversee our operations.
- Receive a $2,500 bonus upon successful completion of training.
- Salary is negotiable based on experience.
- Participate in a quarterly bonus program.

Experience & Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years of front-of-house leadership experience in either quick-service or full-service dining establishments; culinary preparation experience is a plus.
- Proficient in staffing and scheduling, which includes recruiting, training, creating schedules, and managing payroll.
- Demonstrated experience in managing a profit and loss statement with a solid financial acumen, including effective strategies to enhance a restaurant's financial performance.
- Ability to recognize challenges and adopt a solution-focused approach to service and operational issues.
- Must possess flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; schedule adjustments may be made with approval from the Service Director or Vice President of Service & Operations.
- Capability to frequently lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Enhance and refine all aspects of service within the restaurant.
- Ensure adherence to all policies and procedures, including recruitment, hiring, training (including updating training materials), conducting 6-month employee evaluations, implementing progressive discipline, and managing employee documentation.
- Communicate professionally and confidently with guests, staff, and management.
- Complete general administrative responsibilities, which include:
- Daily opening and closing tasks in accordance with Small Cheval protocols.
- Cash handling and processing refunds.
- Managing and approving time cards and payroll.
- Executing tip exchanges.
- Maintaining restaurant facilities, equipment, and supplies, including placing product orders.
- Create and publish all hourly schedules two weeks in advance, ensuring compliance with company standards for labor management and maintaining adequate staffing levels.
- Review daily financials to manage comps, expenses, labor, and overall revenue; lead monthly financial discussions for the restaurant and present insights and understanding of profit and loss statements to management.
- Act as the primary contact for all guest relations, addressing guest emails, resolving service or food-related issues, and promoting hospitality throughout the restaurant.
- Collaborate with the Events, Marketing and Branding, Purchasing, Culinary, and Small Cheval Director teams to enhance the overall financial health of the restaurant.
- Provide consistent coaching and support for all hourly staff, with the ability to step into any hourly role as needed.
