Job Title: Production Design Engineer

Job Summary:

Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled Production Design Engineer to support one of our largest material handling clients in Columbus, Indiana. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design and manufacturing, with experience in designing mechanical fixtures for manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical fixtures for manufacturing equipment
  • Analyze downtime reports to determine root cause and implement solutions to increase productivity
  • Plan, procure, integrate, and install production equipment into assembly areas
  • Lead capital projects and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or Associate Degree in a technical field with applicable experience
  • 0-2 years experience in a similar position or 1 or more internships if entry level
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or Catia
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and understand dimensions and symbols

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with troubleshooting equipment
  • Ability to use 2D CAD software to create machining drawings or plant layouts
  • Hobbies such as wrenching, fabricating, and building mechanical materials/components/fixtures
