Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Specialist

NTN Driveshaft Inc., a world leader in constant velocity technology, is seeking a qualified Manufacturing Engineering Specialist to join our Columbus, Indiana operation.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineering Specialist to develop processes on existing and new automated manufacturing equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up the sequence of machine operations, optimizing production time, and ensuring equipment up-time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement process improvements on existing and new equipment
  • Optimize production time and equipment up-time
  • Collaborate with the maintenance department to plan and provide practical support for equipment maintenance
  • Lead improvement teams on cycle time reduction, planned maintenance, and heavy maintenance
  • Design and develop new equipment and tooling
  • Develop new products on existing equipment
Requirements:
  • BS Mechanical Engineering Technology or associate degree with experience
  • Extensive mechanical ability with basic electrical ability
  • Project management and lean manufacturing skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Materials engineering knowledge mainly related to carbon steel
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and air-pressure equipment and circuits
  • Equipment knowledge of induction hardening and tempering
