The primary responsibilities of the Rentals and Tuneshop Team Lead include:

  1. Overseeing the operational integrity of the rental fleet, ensuring all equipment is functional, inventory is precise, and organization is maintained.
  2. Managing the tuneshop to guarantee efficiency, proper supply levels, timely customer service, and addressing any operational discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and mentor all Technicians within the rental and tuneshop departments.
  • Confidently oversee the daily operations of both the rental and tuneshop.
  • Motivate Technicians to perform at their best consistently.
  • Address inquiries related to tune shop, rentals, or repairs with expertise.
  • Regularly operate and maintain all tuneshop equipment, performing various tune services to uphold Next Adventure's standards.
  • Effectively train technicians in both rental and tuneshop skills, guiding them towards achieving expert proficiency.
  • Collaborate with the team to manage the rental fleet inventory schedule.
  • Develop clear workflow strategies, implement them effectively, and adjust as necessary.
  • Expertly handle customer complaints, striving for mutually beneficial resolutions.
  • Ensure all Technicians adhere to safety protocols consistently.
  • Facilitate the purchasing of used gear according to company standards and utilize relevant software.
  • Assist in managing warranty claims and identifying alternative solutions when necessary.
  • Perform advanced functions related to Rental, POS, and WMS, including troubleshooting in-store IT issues.
  • For specific locations, demonstrate moderate to advanced boot fitting skills, including measuring, fitting, and adjusting equipment as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a leadership role within a rental and/or tuneshop environment, or prior experience as a Senior Technician at Next Adventure.
  • Current binding certifications from various manufacturers.
  • Proficient in performing ski binding mounts and operating tuneshop machinery.
  • Knowledge of boot fitting techniques and repair processes.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and customer service abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of outdoor equipment, including skis, snowboards, and mountaineering gear.
  • Capability to assess equipment damage and recommend repairs.
  • Physical ability to perform light to moderate lifting and stand for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
