Job Summary:

As a key member of the Adventist Health team, the Lead Sterile Processing Team Lead will provide leadership and guidance to non-certified and certified technicians in the planning, prioritization, coordination, and assignment of sterile processing activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, as well as the ability to build continued competency and work independently to support other team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide shift leadership and guidance to sterile processing technicians
  • Coordinate work schedules and oversee training and competency evaluation of staff
  • Maintain an adequate level of instrumentation and understand equipment and chemicals used in reprocessing reusable instruments and equipment
  • Provide preceptor support to other employees and develop educational programs to enhance team knowledge and skills
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
  • Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
  • Three years' sterile processing experience: Preferred
  • One year leadership experience: Preferred
  • Sterile Processing Technician certification: Required
  • Certified Board Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST): Required
