The Lead Electrical Technician plays a crucial role in overseeing and directing a team of electricians within the organization. As the primary

liaison for the electrical team, this individual must possess comprehensive knowledge in all facets of residential wiring

and solar energy system installation. This encompasses adherence to safety protocols, electrical codes,

system design, implementation, and problem-solving. The Lead Technician should effectively manage a diverse workforce and be capable of

mentoring new electricians in all phases of installation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, guide, and educate all electricians in the team.
  • Review and prepare projects before installation to ensure that potential challenges are addressed and electricians are equipped for success.
  • Resolve installation and post-installation challenges.
  • Execute solar energy system installations and conduct Service Changes and Main Panel Upgrades.
  • Collaborate with the Construction Manager and Branch Manager to coordinate schedules and achieve organizational objectives.

Required Qualifications:

Must hold a valid Oregon Residential, Journeyman, or Master Electrical License

*Or an equivalent license from a reciprocal state

  • In-depth understanding of electrical installations and compliance with electrical codes.
  • Capability to ascend ladders, work on rooftops, and perform outdoor tasks comfortably.
  • Proficient in NEC regulations pertaining to solar installations.
  • Ability to interpret schematics and adhere to technical installation guidelines.
  • Capacity to lift weights up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Previous management or leadership experience is advantageous.
  • Professional demeanor is essential.
  • Ability to maintain an active electrical license.

Minimum Experience Requirements:

  • Electrical License in the relevant state of employment.
  • At least 1 year of experience in the solar sector.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with residential electrical systems.
  • Experience with service changes and main panel upgrades.
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work on roofs with a pitch of up to 45 degrees.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
  • Willingness to travel overnight may be necessary.
