Job Summary

The Director of Communications will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive communications strategy to advance the mission of ECMC Foundation. This role will oversee all aspects of internal and external communications, including content development, media relations, and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in communications, a passion for higher education, and excellent leadership and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a communications strategy that aligns with the Foundation's mission and goals
  • Lead a team of communications professionals to create and disseminate high-quality content across various channels
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including media, grantees, and partners
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement communications plans that support programmatic goals
  • Manage the communications budget and oversee vendor relationships
  • Develop and track key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of communications efforts
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in communications, with at least 7 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful communications strategies
  • Excellent leadership, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in communications or a related field
  • Experience working in a non-profit or education setting
  • Knowledge of digital communications platforms and tools
