Job Description

Georgetown University's McCourt School of Public Policy seeks a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director of Communications and Marketing to lead its strategic communications and marketing efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with the School's mission and goals.

The Executive Director of Communications and Marketing will serve as a strategic adviser to the Dean and a steward of the McCourt School's reputation. This role will oversee the execution of the School's communications strategies, including stakeholder engagement, narrative development, crisis communications, and raising the School's visibility with key stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience in strategic communications, with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful communications strategies. They will possess excellent written and verbal communications skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to contribute to the development, communication, and implementation of sustained strategic planning.

The Executive Director of Communications and Marketing will work closely with the Dean, the Chief of Staff, and other McCourt leaders to develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with the School's mission and goals. They will also collaborate with campus and external partners to conceptualize and execute compelling thought leadership events for students and the broader policy community.

They will demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including prioritizing appropriately and tracking and reporting progress.
