About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to join our team as the Vice President of Information Systems Operations at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our executive leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to drive the success of our IT operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive the success of IT operations
  • Partner with senior leaders to establish and maintain best practices and governance frameworks
  • Lead the development and implementation of enterprise-wide project management initiatives and methodologies
  • Oversee IS financial operations, including annual budget development and management, contracts, and business operations
  • Develop and oversee strategic ITS portfolio plans and corresponding frameworks for enterprise ITS resource planning
  • Provide technology expertise to UCI Health service lines for proactive portfolio management
  • Oversee a team of ITS Business Partners and work closely with senior leadership to ensure the ITS function operates in a financially successful and mission-driven manner
  • Provide oversight for third-party contractors and establish and effectively manage a portfolio of vendors
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an executive leadership role (Director or higher) in IS Business operations, including enterprise-wide IS financial management
  • Minimum 10 years' experience of progressive management responsibility
  • Strong planning, financial, and analytical skills to provide effective leadership for assigned areas
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Excellent negotiation skills and proven ability to influence others internal and external to the organization
  • Evidence of sound critical thinking skills and the ability to think creatively and strategically
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or Masters in Healthcare Management or related field
  • Leadership experience in an academic medical center environment
  • Knowledge of University and Medical Center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms
  • Experience in Project Management and Lean Six Sigma as improvement tools
  • Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP)
