Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Vice President, IS Operations to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. This key leadership role will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans for Information Technology Services (ITS) operations, ensuring alignment with the university's mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for ITS operations, including annual budget development and management, contracts, and business operations.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop and oversee strategic ITS portfolio plans and corresponding frameworks for enterprise ITS resource planning.
  • Develop and lead enterprise-wide project management initiatives and methodology, creating best practices and policies within ITS Operations.
  • Provide oversight for third-party contractors, establishing and effectively managing a portfolio of vendors and ensuring contracts are executed in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Work closely with senior leadership throughout the health system to ensure that the ITS function operates in a manner that is financially successful and supports UCI Health's mission.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an executive leadership role (Director or higher) in IS Business operations, including enterprise-wide IS financial management.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience of progressive management responsibility.
  • Strong planning, financial, and analytical skills to provide effective leadership for assigned areas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and proven ability to influence others internal and external to the organization.
  • Evidence of sound critical thinking skills and the ability to think creatively and strategically.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or Master's in Healthcare Management or related field.
  • Leadership experience in an academic medical center environment.
  • Knowledge of University and Medical Center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
  • Experience in Project Management and Lean Six Sigma as improvement tools.
  • Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
