Position Overview:

WGI Inc. is in search of a Senior Civil Engineer with a wealth of experience, specifically 15 to 20 years, to take on a pivotal role within our Civil Engineering division. This position is based in our Texas offices and offers the opportunity to lead and inspire a talented team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide design teams in the creation of engineering designs, including construction plans, profiles, utility layouts, and roadway designs.
  • Prepare essential engineering documentation such as stormwater design reports, permit applications, and cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with various disciplines to assess resource requirements and resolve technical challenges.
  • Coordinate with project managers and clients to ensure the successful delivery of project scopes and adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Review and evaluate the work of technical staff, providing constructive feedback based on client needs and regulatory standards.
  • Draft specifications for materials and construction methodologies.
  • Lead the development of design concepts and approaches for assigned projects.
  • Assist project managers in establishing budgets, timelines, and project information dissemination.
  • Engage with local authorities and utilities to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Provide guidance on design and code requirements, particularly within local jurisdictions.
  • Participate in and contribute to technical engineering associations at local and state levels.
  • Support division managers in creating and implementing technical training programs for staff.
  • Enhance and execute effective QA/QC strategies and innovative design solutions to improve project delivery.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers to foster their professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Active registration as a Texas Professional Engineer (PE) is mandatory; NCEES registration for multi-state accreditation is preferred.
  • Experience in Site Civil and/or Utility Engineering is essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with CADD software is preferred.
  • Knowledge of modeling software such as ICPR, EPANET, Water CAD, and HecRas is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
