We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer to lead our roadway design team at Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and preparing roadway and highway plans, specifications, and cost estimates for public works and large infrastructure projects throughout the Southwest.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Roadway Design Efforts: Prepare plans and specifications for construction packages, ensuring efficient and constructible solutions that align with project goals and timelines.
- Collaborate with Project Managers: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to develop solutions that meet project requirements.
- Review and Approve Shop Drawings: Ensure accurate translation of design intent during the construction phase.
- Provide Technical Support: Offer guidance to the construction team during the execution of roadway work, responding to inquiries and resolving on-site design-related challenges.
- Collaborate with Project Management: Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Assist with Business Development: Participate in the identification and recruitment of key personnel and mentoring/training of Civil staff to ensure professional growth and development.
- Ensure Quality Deliverables: Ensure project deliverables meet quality requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5+ Years' Experience in roadway design, preferably large public works or similar infrastructure projects.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Civil engineering.
- Demonstrated Understanding of industry codes and standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (Microstation is a plus).
- Strong Communication Skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving Skills to develop innovative and practical design solutions.
- Ability to Work Safely and collaboratively in a team environment.
