Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design teams in developing comprehensive engineering designs, including construction plans, profiles, utility layouts, and roadway designs.
  • Prepare essential engineering documentation such as stormwater design reports, permit applications, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate project designs with various disciplines to identify resource requirements and resolve technical challenges.
  • Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure project scope delivery and adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Evaluate technical staff's work and provide constructive feedback to meet client expectations and regulatory standards.
  • Generate detailed specifications for materials and construction methodologies.
  • Guide project design strategies and concepts in collaboration with project managers.
  • Assist in establishing project budgets, timelines, and information dissemination through team meetings.
  • Engage with local authorities and utilities to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Provide expertise on design and code requirements, particularly within local jurisdictions.
  • Participate in and contribute to professional engineering associations at local and state levels.
  • Support the development and implementation of technical training programs for staff.
  • Enhance and execute successful QA/QC strategies and innovative design solutions to improve project delivery.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers to foster their professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Active registration as a Texas Professional Engineer (PE) is mandatory, with NCEES registration preferred.
  • Proven experience in site civil and utility engineering (water and sewer).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with engineering software.
  • In-depth understanding of engineering principles and methodologies.
  • Experience with CADD is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior engineering staff.
