About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Parts Counterman to join our team at Serpentini Chevrolet of Westlake. As a key member of our parts department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the timely fulfillment of parts orders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Assist customers with their automotive parts needs and inquiries, both in-person and over the phone.
  • Inventory Management: Utilize a computerized inventory system to locate, order, and track automotive parts.
  • Parts Information: Provide accurate and detailed information regarding pricing, availability, and compatibility of parts.
  • Collaboration: Work with service technicians and other staff members to ensure the timely fulfillment of parts orders.
  • Parts Department Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized parts department, including proper storage and labeling of parts.
  • Transaction Processing: Process transactions, including receiving and processing payments, as well as issuing refunds or credits when necessary.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with inventory management, including regular stock checks, reconciliations, and restocking shelves as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical training or certification in automotive parts is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience working as an Automotive Parts Counterman or in a related role within the automotive industry.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of automotive parts and components, including familiarity with various vehicle makes and models.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using computerized inventory management systems and point-of-sale software.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to assist customers effectively and build positive relationships.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks related to the job.
