POSITION SUMMARY
The Youth Mentorship Program Coordinator operates under the guidance of the Promise Coordinator to attract, train, and sustain adult mentors who will effectively assist teens in cultivating STEM skills, enhancing college and career readiness, and ultimately crafting personalized plans for their future achievements. The Coordinator will exemplify high-quality mentorship by designing and facilitating activities that encourage youth to investigate their identities, experiences, and aspirations through technology.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
? Mentor Recruitment and Retention
? Conduct outreach to recruit mentors and assist in establishing partnerships with educational institutions, community organizations, and other city departments to provide resources and opportunities.
? Strive to recruit mentors from diverse racial backgrounds to promote inclusivity in STEM fields for youth from varied backgrounds.
? Ensure all volunteer mentors undergo thorough screening and meet all necessary qualifications to guarantee the safety of youth involved in the program.
? Deliver effective orientation and ongoing training for mentors to cultivate relevant skills, foster meaningful relationships between mentors and youth, and align with program objectives.

? Facilitate Project-Based Learning
? Utilize Promise Planning Procedures and The Clubhouse Network Learning Model to design and execute high-quality activities while supervising youth engaged in project-based learning with mentors focused on STEM and career readiness.
? Collaborate with The Clubhouse Network to create opportunities for local youth to work alongside members from other Clubhouses globally on projects that enhance foundational technical and workplace skills.
? Organize and host quarterly family events that provide resources and empower families to navigate post-secondary opportunities and support their children's career aspirations.

? Program Management Support
? Maintain safety and order for youth, participants, staff, and volunteers by ensuring cleanliness of program areas and employing proper check-in and check-out protocols, utilizing a trauma-informed approach to behavior management, etc.
? Engage with young individuals, parents/caregivers, educators, and community leaders to recruit participants aged 13-19 who reside, work, or attend school in the area.

? Operational Duties
? Comply with all city and departmental policies.
? Adhere to grant requirements to foster a safe, inclusive, equitable, and professional environment for youth, families, volunteers, staff, and partner organizations.
? Attend all relevant meetings as assigned, including leadership meetings and community practice sessions.
? Participate in professional development opportunities, including conferences and training sessions related to technology use in the program.

? Reporting and Communication
? Ensure all reporting obligations are fulfilled, including collecting participation data, administering surveys, and monitoring mentor retention.
? Develop proficiency in key programs and applications essential for program management.
