Immediate Opening: Fleet Maintenance Supervisor for Paratransit Services - $78,000 Annual Salary

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the repair and upkeep of coach and fleet vehicles while managing maintenance personnel. Key responsibilities include assigning tasks, assessing vehicle repairs, monitoring maintenance software, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations set forth by Transdev and governmental bodies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise staff in the maintenance, repair, and cleaning of buses powered by compressed natural gas, diesel, and alternative fuels.
  • Oversee maintenance team, including disciplinary recommendations.
  • Evaluate technician performance in alignment with company policies.
  • Ensure all mechanics possess necessary licenses and certifications.
  • Inspect and manage major and minor repairs, including vendor work.
  • Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to maintenance staff.
  • Develop work orders and assess repairs conducted by technicians and external vendors.
  • Monitor radio communications during operational hours to address mechanical inquiries promptly.
  • Manage vehicle titles, registrations, and compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with DOT inspections for revenue and service equipment.
  • Perform additional duties to promote the efficient functioning of the maintenance facility.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Preferred college degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in automotive and transit equipment maintenance or equivalent training.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel and internal combustion engines, automatic transmissions, air brakes, steering, and driveline systems.
  • Basic understanding of electrical theory and ability to interpret wiring diagrams.
  • Capability to read and understand safety regulations, operational instructions, and maintenance manuals.
  • Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • ASE certification is advantageous.
  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License with a passenger endorsement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication skills with diverse internal and external stakeholders.

  • 50% of work is conducted indoors in climate-controlled environments.

  • May work in varying weather conditions and be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 75 pounds.
