Position Overview:

Role Summary:

The development teams we support have pioneered innovations such as Metal, Reference Mode on iPad Pro, ProMotion on iPhone and iPad, third-party game controller support, AAA gaming on iOS/MacOS, Apple Silicon on Mac, and Vision Pro support.

We serve as the testing arm of our development teams, collaborating closely to create test plans, execute them, and partner throughout development cycles to refine testing until our products reach customers.

We are looking for a highly skilled and driven test engineering manager to lead our GPU and Graphics Experience QA team.

Role Responsibilities:
The GPU, Graphics, and Displays team is in search of an expert, self-motivated test engineering manager with a genuine passion for enhancing the macOS, iOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS experiences.

You will oversee a team dedicated to working with the latest Apple products, ensuring that the graphics experience remains unparalleled.

This position will primarily focus on leading a QA team responsible for the development and execution of automation and functional tests to support graphics technology (Metal) across both new and existing hardware.

The ideal candidate should possess a strong aptitude for learning new technologies, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the capability to drive complex and challenging projects.

Collaboration with engineering teams and the ability to perform well under pressure are essential skills for success in this role. The candidate should have experience working cross-functionally, mentoring peers, and leading projects.

Key Qualifications:
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Solid understanding of UNIX-based systems and command-line tools for debugging, analysis, and automation
  • Strong focus on customer experience
  • Deep knowledge of the QA process, with experience in manual testing, automation, and other QA methodologies
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills due to high interaction with engineering teams, management, and other departments
  • Minimum of 3 years in a management or leadership role
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field – or equivalent experience.

Additional Requirements:
- Proficient in Python and scripting, or other programming languages.
- Experience with Swift is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base pay is one component of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides opportunities for advancement as you grow within your role.
The base pay range for this position is between $173,100 and $301,400, with actual pay depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
