Job Description:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this prominent role, you will have the chance to significantly influence Apple Products and establish a lasting impact.
We are seeking a skilled quality engineer to spearhead the development and ramp-up of next-generation Apple products.
Our quality engineering team is essential in enabling the mass production of groundbreaking products while collaborating in the development of Apple's distinguished designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess designs and processes during the conceptual phase.
- Design measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacturing methods that meet ambitious specifications at large-scale production.
- Create and implement innovative quality inspection tools to assess cosmetic and dimensional characteristics of parts.
- Analyze and compile data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process and part specifications.
- Work with internal and external teams to ensure proper definition of quality expectations and the application of suitable assurance techniques for the product.
- Oversee all Quality Engineering functions for a program, acting as project manager to guide efforts at supplier locations.
- Establish audit procedures tailored to the program and supplier to maintain adherence to Apple quality standards.
- Drive corrective actions collaboratively with internal and external team members.
- Travel internationally to supplier sites – approximately 25% of the time.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or Quality Control.
Proven experience in developing process quality plans, conducting supplier quality audits, and leading corrective actions and failure analysis initiatives.
Solid understanding of mechanical quality and reliability concepts, supplier management, and general manufacturing operations.
Experience in developing and evaluating measurement systems, project management, and familiarity with problem-solving tools including design of experiments, root cause analysis, and statistical analysis tools.
Familiarity with any of the following: mechanical enclosures, castings, plastic components, injection molding, tooling, jigs, fixtures, or high-volume quality manufacturing engineering (e.g., Automotive, Consumer Electronics, Medical Devices, etc.).
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base pay is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package, which is determined within a range based on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
The base pay range for this role is between $151,200 and $227,600.
Apple employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.Employees are also eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
