Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Elementary Education Specialist to join our team at Southside ISD. As an Elementary Education Specialist, you will be responsible for providing students with a high-quality education and helping them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instructional Strategies
    • Develop and implement lesson plans and activities that cater to the diverse needs of students.
    • Use technology to enhance the teaching and learning process.
    • Conduct assessments to evaluate student learning styles and adjust instructional activities accordingly.
    • Work collaboratively with special education teachers to modify curricula for students with special needs.
  • Student Growth and Development
    • Provide ongoing feedback to students on their progress and achievement.
    • Be a positive role model and support the goals of the campus and school district.
    • Help students develop effective study habits and improve their academic performance.
  • Classroom Management and Organization
    • Create a learning environment that is conducive to student growth and development.
    • Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
    • Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
  • Communication
    • Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
    • Attend campus events and activities as directed by the campus administration.
    • Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
  • Professional Growth and Development
    • Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned, or a valid Teaching Permit.
  • At least one year of student teaching or approved internship experience.
Working Conditions

The Elementary Education Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent standing, stooping, and bending. The ability to lift and/or carry moderate weight, sit, stand, walk, climb stairs or ladders, reach, and perform repetitive hand motions is required.
