Job Title: Patient Service Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Service Specialist to join our team. As a Patient Service Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Obtain accurate and updated patient information, including name, address, and insurance details
  • Perform insurance verification and obtain patient signatures for required documents
  • Upload patient and insurance cards, and file and maintain medical records
  • Correct registration work queue errors and confirm and schedule appointments
  • Answer telephone calls promptly and courteously, and perform referral documentation
  • Work daily in the claims edit work queue to correct registration errors for submission to insurance companies
  • Adhere to standards identified via Sparq regarding Optum Employee Policies
  • Work cohesively with fellow employees to achieve specific team goals
  • Keep abreast of current medical requirements relevant to their position, including maintaining patient confidentiality and abiding by all HIPAA and OSHA requirements
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of customer service or healthcare-related experience
  • Intermediate level of computer proficiency, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and multiple web applications
  • Knowledge of Epic EMR software
