The City of Portland Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) Operations & Maintenance Group (O&MG) is seeking a dedicated professional to oversee the electrical maintenance operations within our organization.

This pivotal role involves supervising the Electrical Shop to enhance the management of the Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) program, ensuring efficient support for electricians, addressing licensing requirements, and fostering a positive work culture.

The Electrical Supervisor will be responsible for managing and executing the functions, staff, and operations of this highly specialized Electrical Maintenance unit.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Develop and administer the Facility Electrical Master Permit Program, ensuring compliance with Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS), Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR), and National Electrical Code (NEC) regulations.

2. Oversee the planning and execution of daily maintenance and project support tasks, supervising the work of journey-level electricians in the design, installation, testing, calibration, modification, maintenance, repair, and servicing of industrial electrical equipment and control systems.

3. Participate in budget development and management, preparing and overseeing contracts with external contractors and consultants, while coordinating closely with Operations, Engineering, and other Maintenance groups for project implementation.

- Ability to supervise a diverse workforce and promote an equitable workplace environment.

- Familiarity with safety practices and regulations related to electrical work.

- Capacity to analyze complex operational issues and recommend effective solutions.

- A General Supervising Electrician License at the time of hire.
