Job Overview

The Maintenance Operations Assistant Supervisor works in close collaboration with the Supervisor to guide the team and oversee site activities, ensuring that services are provided to the client in accordance with the company's values and performance benchmarks. This position demands strict compliance with corporate policies, health and safety standards, and adherence to all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists the Supervisor in managing and directing the operations of the designated site, ensuring the fulfillment of the contracted scope of work.
  • Offers technical assistance to team members and ensures adherence to company employment policies, safety standards, and relevant industry regulations.
  • Helps in the organization, creation, and distribution of weekly team schedules that align with budgetary constraints.
  • Monitors site operations to guarantee that staff comply with safety protocols and task assignments, providing necessary training to uphold safe and consistent practices.
  • Conducts regular safety audits to encourage safe working habits and establishes expectations for direct reports.
  • Oversees employee performance, providing coaching and development opportunities to promote team success.
  • Assists in training new hires, ensuring policy compliance and addressing disciplinary matters as necessary.
  • Supports timecard processing and manages vacation schedules as required.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with the management team and the client to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs various systems as necessary, including electrical, mechanical, and safety systems.
  • Completes necessary documentation for regulatory and client requirements.
  • Performs essential maintenance and repairs on equipment, including conducting electrical tests and maintaining components.
  • Communicates inspection results to the Supervisor and Regional Manager promptly.
  • Ensures adherence to and promotes the use of protective equipment while working, maintaining a strong focus on safety for the entire team.
  • May require occasional travel (typically no more than 25% or as directed by management).
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent skills in reading, writing, and reasoning) is required.
  • Trade school or formal mechanical maintenance training is preferred; however, training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations is beneficial, though training will be provided as necessary.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and persuasive skills, with the ability to effectively engage with all levels of clients, employees, and leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • General knowledge of regulatory standards, equipment capabilities, and job requirements.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including those involving hazardous conditions, and to lift or exert force exceeding 50 lbs.
  • Must possess appropriate licenses and certifications.
  • Willingness to work beyond regular hours when necessary.
  • Ability to travel overnight as required.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background and substance screenings, including ongoing verifications to ensure compliance with company policies.
