Overview

The role of Process Improvement Leader is pivotal in driving the continuous enhancement initiatives within our manufacturing facility. This position entails spearheading the deployment and execution of lean manufacturing strategies, processes, and plans. The individual will act as a catalyst for change, facilitating lean methodologies with the plant teams. The leader will identify and guide activities aimed at achieving objectives aligned with key performance indicators.

The Process Improvement Leader will implement and assess projects and initiatives in coordination with the General Manager's vision.

Regularly engages with team members to gather insights on improvement opportunities, needs, and requirements, leveraging both internal and external resources.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and drive the successful adoption of lean principles, proactively managing change to ensure the success of continuous improvement initiatives.

2. Acquire and develop essential skills to implement Lean Sigma and other continuous improvement methodologies, fostering ownership and shared accountability for process enhancements.

3. Coordinate and facilitate activities such as Kaizen events and training sessions in various continuous improvement methodologies, serving as an educator and facilitator. Monitor and report on the skill development of supervisors and employees related to Continuous Improvement.

4. Create and utilize tools that enhance the effectiveness of lean practices and ensure their sustainability over time, including but not limited to SPC, lean manufacturing techniques, and pass-down meetings.

5. Cultivate expertise in lean and continuous improvement leadership, mentoring and supporting the growth of continuous improvement resources within the plant. Track and communicate the skill advancement of supervisors and employees in relation to Continuous Improvement.

6. Establish processes and practices to identify and disseminate best practices throughout the plant and across the organization.

7. Maintain a professional work environment with both internal and external stakeholders, effectively managing relationships across all levels of the organization and fostering collaboration throughout the supply chain.

8. Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing is required; experience in the food industry is preferred.

• An Associate's Degree is preferred; a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

• Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.

• Skilled in analyzing reports and taking appropriate actions based on the information provided.

• Experienced in writing reports to meet requirements and communicate effectively with leadership.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing or a related field, with a solid understanding of product quality, waste reduction, and product integrity.

• Ability to influence both floor and staff associates in all activities is desired.

• Must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to organize data and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

• Demonstrated focus on achieving results is essential.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Working Environment

1. The role is situated within a refrigerated food manufacturing facility.

2. The work environment may vary in humidity and temperature, ranging from 25°F to 110°F.

3. Physical demands may include lifting, kneeling, and bending with packages exceeding 50 lbs.

4. Production demands may necessitate evening or weekend work schedules.

This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus aligned with company goals.
