Job Summary

Albany Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team as a Pre-Kindergarten Teacher. This is a full-time position responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive curriculum, supervising and managing a Pre-Kindergarten classroom, and reflecting the mission of Albany Med Kids.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with established standards and procedures.
  • Supervise and manage a Pre-Kindergarten classroom, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children.
  • Interact with each child in a warm and loving way, fostering their emotional and social development.
  • Implement positive behavior management techniques to promote confidence, competence, and self-direction in children.
  • Plan and implement indoor and outdoor activities that reflect the established curriculum and lesson planning procedures.
  • Ensure the preparation of supplies and materials on a daily basis.
  • Maintain the health, welfare, and safety of each child in the class.
  • Report accidents and incidents to the teacher and administrative team, accurately recording details on an incident report.
  • Participate in custodial care of children and the classroom.
  • Encourage children to develop self-help skills through adequate supervision and guidance.
  • Maintain parent-teacher communication through parent classroom boards and other channels.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and administration.
  • Serve as a positive role model for children and colleagues.
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Child Development Associate Credential.
  • Minimum of 1 year of classroom experience.
Working Conditions
