Job Overview

Aquatic Safety Specialist

Compensation: $20 per hour. Ideal seasonal role with a flexible schedule.

As an Aquatic Safety Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety of all individuals in the swimming area. You will provide lifesaving services, educate participants on water safety, and deliver swim instruction to youth during the summer season. Additionally, you will assist in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the aquatic facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the swimming pool area to uphold safety standards and prevent accidents.
  • Perform rescues and administer first aid as necessary.
  • Conduct inspections of the swimming facilities at the start and end of each shift, ensuring cleanliness and monitoring water quality parameters.
  • Deliver swimming lessons tailored to the skill levels of participants.
  • Enforce pool rules and report any violations to the appropriate supervisory personnel.
  • Assist in other recreational activities during adverse weather conditions.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess an Advanced Life Saving certification or equivalent (certification as a Lifeguard is required).
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents is preferred, along with a basic understanding of therapeutic environments.
