The Colonial Williamsburg Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pastry Department Manager to lead our Pastry team to excellence. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for the successful achievement of operational, financial, and quality goals of the Pastry department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Train, supervise, counsel, and motivate the kitchen team while controlling production, quality, and waste.
- Assist with the implementation of menus and ensure the consistent preparation of innovative and creative cuisine of the highest quality.
- Develop and maintain a team environment that fosters outstanding guest satisfaction and improved consistency.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to increase covers and revenues in the food service outlets.
- Ensure thorough knowledge of all cooking aspects of Pastry operations and possess knowledge of American regional cuisine and menu development.
- Develop and maintain a strong sense of accountability and take action to improve the well-being of employees.
Requirements:
- 3 years Pastry experience, Culinary Degree, and/or accompanying professional managerial experience with the hotel and restaurant industries.
- Progressive track record with hotel, resort, and restaurant organizations.
- Proven record of culinary accomplishments and recognitions.
- Excellent leadership skills, dynamic and inspiring personality, and passion for operations.
- Articulate with excellent communication and presentation skills, and a strong sense of commitment.
- Ability to develop and maintain a team environment and listen to and respect the opinions of others.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Willingness to make a long-term commitment to the Colonial Williamsburg Company, the management, and the culinary and Food and Beverage teams.
