Position Overview

About the Role

The Director of Strategic Initiatives will play a pivotal role in supporting the Rare Disease Franchise in the United States, ensuring that the franchise is optimally positioned to achieve its strategic goals and business objectives. This position will spearhead strategic projects that are essential for the successful commercialization of therapies for rare diseases, which are vital for enhancing patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee the creation and execution of critical strategic projects across various functions within the Franchise.
  2. Enhance commercialization effectiveness from an executive leadership viewpoint, ensuring a cohesive connection between launch preparations at the team level and communications at the executive level.

What You Will Accomplish

  • Lead a portfolio of strategic, cross-functional initiatives for the Rare Disease Franchise, acting as a knowledgeable consultant to guide these projects, ensuring strategic alignment and effective execution.
  • Prepare high-level presentations for updates on commercialization progress, business assessments, and investor relations meetings to be shared with senior leadership and the Board.
  • Compile and analyze monthly cross-functional data insights for executive-level updates regarding the advancement of commercial initiatives.
  • Establish and manage a prioritized list of key strategic initiatives in close collaboration with the Rare Disease Leadership Team and cross-functional leaders to enhance the Franchise's ability to meet its strategic aims.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA is preferred.
  • Over 7 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry or consulting, with a focus on leading large-scale, complex programs and initiatives.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Strong project management capabilities, adept at handling multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing effectively based on urgent needs.
  • Ability to build and maintain a robust internal and external network.
  • Proficient operational skills, including project and timeline management.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Experience
Experience in managing biotech or pharmaceutical product launches is highly desirable.
