Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Building & Earth Sciences, Inc.

About the Role

  • Conduct site investigations to assess soil and rock conditions, ensuring accurate data for project planning and execution.
  • Perform geotechnical analysis and calculations to design foundations, retaining structures, and slope stabilization systems that meet project requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate geotechnical considerations, ensuring seamless project delivery.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to geotechnical specifications, maintaining high-quality project outcomes.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports and recommendations to stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Track budgets and project financials for accuracy, ensuring timely invoicing and revenue management.
  • Maintain positive business relationships with clients, government officials, contractors, and other stakeholders, fostering a collaborative and respectful work environment.
  • Participate in professional meetings and business development functions as needed, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License, with preference for the State of Tennessee.
  • Experience in geotechnical investigations, geotechnical reports, defining testing plans, interpreting test data, performing engineering analyses for foundation design, drilling, boring plan layout, site preparation issues, slope stability, and seismic hazard evaluations.
