Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Building & Earth Sciences, Inc. as a Site Investigation Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting site investigations to assess soil and rock conditions, performing geotechnical analysis and calculations, and designing foundations, retaining structures, and slope stabilization systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site investigations to assess soil and rock conditions, including geotechnical testing and sampling.
  • Perform geotechnical analysis and calculations to determine the stability of soil and rock formations.
  • Design foundations, retaining structures, and slope stabilization systems to ensure safe and stable construction.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate geotechnical considerations into construction plans.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to geotechnical specifications.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports and recommendations for project stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License, preference to State of Tennessee.
  • Experience in geotechnical investigations, geotechnical reports, defining testing plans, interpreting test data, performing engineering analyses for foundation design, drilling, boring plan layout, site preparation issues, slope stability and seismic hazard evaluations, structural special inspections.
