Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Building & Earth Sciences, Inc. as a key member of our engineering staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting site investigations, performing geotechnical analysis, and designing foundations, retaining structures, and slope stabilization systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site investigations to assess soil and rock conditions, including geotechnical testing and sampling.
  • Perform geotechnical analysis and calculations to determine the stability of foundations, retaining structures, and slope stabilization systems.
  • Design and develop geotechnical solutions for various projects, including foundation design, retaining wall design, and slope stabilization.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate geotechnical considerations into project plans and specifications.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to geotechnical specifications and standards.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports and recommendations for project stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License, preferably in the State of Tennessee.
  • Experience in geotechnical investigations, geotechnical reports, defining testing plans, interpreting test data, performing engineering analyses for foundation design, drilling, boring plan layout, site preparation issues, slope stability, and seismic hazard evaluations.
