Role Summary:
The Automotive Sales Consultant is responsible for selling both new and pre-owned vehicles, ensuring customer satisfaction while generating leads and achieving monthly sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers in selecting vehicles by engaging them with thoughtful questions and attentive listening.
  • Participate in product and sales training sessions as directed by the sales manager.
  • Greet and assist customers entering the dealership showroom or sales lot.
  • Meet or exceed the required monthly sales volume.
  • Address the transportation needs of customers purchasing new and used vehicles.
  • Analyze and communicate product performance, applications, and benefits to potential buyers.
  • Offer test drives to all interested customers.
  • Ensure compliance with dealership procedures for customer identification prior to test drives.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Understand and adhere to local and state regulations governing automotive sales.
  • Set personal income goals aligned with dealership productivity standards and develop strategies to achieve them.
  • Stay informed about new products, features, and accessories, and their advantages for customers.
  • Educate customers on equity, values, and depreciation.
  • Facilitate introductions between customers and the sales manager.
  • Process all sales documentation accurately and in accordance with dealership policies.
  • Prepare sold vehicles for customer delivery and ensure they understand the vehicle's features and warranty.
  • Introduce customers to service department staff to highlight available services.
  • Follow up on all post-delivery items to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a system for owner follow-up to encourage repeat and referral business.
  • Schedule first service appointments for customers.
  • Review and analyze performance regularly to improve time management and planning.
  • Conduct business ethically and professionally.
  • Bring a positive attitude and a commitment to excellence to the workplace.
  • Continuously enhance product knowledge and sales skills.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a professional appearance as per company guidelines.
  • Keep the work environment organized, safe, and clean.
  • Attend sales meetings and arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
  • Interact positively with colleagues and accept feedback constructively.
  • Demonstrate eagerness to learn about new products and improve skills.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills with customers and team members.

Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Experience in sales or a related field, preferably in an automotive dealership.
  • Knowledge of automotive sales processes.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly with dealership management software.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Adherence to company policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this position include:

  • Regularly sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Occasionally climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Frequently lifting or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:
The work environment is typical of a professional dealership setting, including test drives with customers. The noise level is generally moderate.
