Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as an Assistant Service Center Manager. This role is a key position in our organization, responsible for directing the workforce to succeed in quality service, including hiring, training, and managing new and existing staff members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fiscal and operational responsibility for the daily operations of the assigned branch facility, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to company standards.
  • Developing and implementing a quality management strategy and plan, including resources, systems, timescales, and financials to support the company's annual goals and long-term strategy.
  • Working with other Service Center Managers and supervisors to meet customer deadlines and ensure timely delivery of products and services.
  • Managing and engaging with team members for motivation and support, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Developing and maintaining systems to establish standards relating to branch activities and products, ensuring consistency and quality across all departments.
  • Developing and maintaining systems to measure branch performance against established standards, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
  • Monitoring performance (in relevant areas) according to agreed standards and taking necessary action to communicate, advise, assist, and reprimand according to performance levels.
  • Monitoring, informing, communicating, applying standards created and integrating within internal quality management systems.
  • Establishing and implementing necessary communication strategy and corrective action for the improvement and awareness of quality issues across all departments.
  • Planning and managing departmental activities in accordance with agreed budgets and timescales, ensuring effective use of resources and adherence to company standards.
  • Establishing and maintaining appropriate inventory controls, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of inventory levels and movements.
  • Managing cash sales reporting and submissions, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of sales data.
  • Reporting changes to standards (internally and externally initiated) and on performance against standards, providing regular updates and recommendations for improvement.
  • Managing staff according to company standards (appraisals, discipline, training, development, etc.), ensuring fair and consistent treatment of all employees.
  • Managing departmental performance against agreed targets and budgets and within policies and standards, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers where necessary (where impacting/affected by quality issues), ensuring effective communication and resolution of issues.
  • Contributing to executive policy and strategy, providing input and recommendations for company-wide initiatives and projects.
  • Maintaining a high level of branch organization at all times, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
  • Developing tools to accurately track errors and deadline compliance, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of performance data.
  • Ensuring the system to track machine clicks for maximum cost efficiency is consistently utilized, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensuring that there are operational QC systems in place to monitor ordering, operators, quality control, final check, and orders out, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of products and services.
  • Ensuring that an operational system is in place for proper shift transitions, if applicable, ensuring smooth and efficient handovers between shifts.
  • Ensuring that there is a system in place to monitor supplies, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of inventory levels and movements.
  • Maintaining proper security and safety levels in the facility, ensuring a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Submitting all branch reporting on time, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of sales data and performance metrics.
  • Planning and directing production activities and establishing production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to company standards.
  • Maintaining a professional, quality work environment at all times, ensuring a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving problematic orders and customer complaints, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
  • Hiring, training, and evaluating personnel to maintain consistent quality and maximum production, ensuring fair and consistent treatment of all employees.
  • Performing other duties and tasks as assigned, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • An Associate's degree and 2 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ to 5 years of experience managing a print shop or sign location, with a proven track record of success in a similar role.
  • The ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and align operations and sales processes to achieve business results.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work independently and resourcefully with minimal oversight, with a strong sense of initiative and a willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing strong working relationships with internal and external customers, with a proven track record of success in building and maintaining effective relationships.
