Job Summary

This position oversees the development and maintenance of business intelligence and analytics tools for the entire organization, working under the direction of the Senior Director of Operations.

The BI manager participates in shaping the vision for BI and analytics at the GW MFA by collaborating with executives and other stakeholders, translating business and operational needs into meaningful analytics, and overseeing the technical development and maintenance of these tools.

The BI manager also provides day-to-day direction to the business intelligence team on the planning, design, development, build and/or configuration of analytics and BI tools, including the implementation of Epic's analytics, data warehousing, and reporting tools.

The Business Intelligence Manager must have a combination of technical and interpersonal skills, experience developing BI tools and participating in a culture of data-driven performance management, and strong leadership skills to guide a team of analysts.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead the BI Analysts through implementations, providing instruction on various technical topics to other team members, educating/training new hires, providing mentorship to team members, managing an application project through the entire project life cycle while meeting project deadlines and initiatives, and monitoring a project plan while reporting project changes and status to project managers and supervisor.
  2. Leads the BI team members on optimization of applications through development of new functionality, testing and implementing scheduled vendor releases and system upgrades, and fixing system defects.
  3. Serves as the resource for other application team members on technical and functional application analysis, defining system requirements and developing logical data models using best practices for build and configuration, maintenance, workflow, and data integrity.
  4. Assigns and manages the daily and long-term work tasks of the analysts on the team.
  5. Leads regular meetings with team members and operational leaders to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, budget, and upcoming milestones.
