Job Title: Business Intelligence Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Data Analytics and Business Intelligence team in the Finance and Administration department at Johns Hopkins University.

The successful candidate will work closely with various departments, including Admissions, Finance, Financial Aid, HR, Operations, Academic Affairs, and Student Billing, to provide strategic data-driven insights that inform decision-making and drive business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support data integration, mining, analysis, and reporting to drive business decisions
  • Extract data from various systems using coding skills and structure the data for meaningful analysis
  • Create visualizations and reports to effectively communicate findings
  • Develop expertise in the school's IT systems and their integration
  • Administer data integrity and governance across the school and its departments
  • Boost student success and foster institutional intelligence through descriptive, diagnostic, prescriptive, and predictive analytics
  • Serve as a central resource for ad hoc data analysis needs and support senior leadership
Requirements:
  • Excellent data and financial modeling skills
  • Experience with student information systems or university administrative applications
  • Proficiency in SQL queries and working knowledge of other query tools
  • Demonstrated proficiency in developing reports and models using SSRS, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, or other similar tools
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Experience in SQL development, data visualization tools, and Business Intelligence tools
  • Experience in Higher Education
