Position Overview

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations and enhancing overall plant efficiency. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our financial reporting and inventory management processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee accounting functions and drive improvements in plant performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain, to meet performance targets.
  • Plan and execute physical inventory counts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare detailed analyses of inventory adjustments and transaction reports.
  • Assist in the monthly financial closing process, ensuring the integrity of both automated and manual entries.
  • Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations to support month-end activities.
  • Analyze monthly scrap and shrinkage data, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and margin improvement.
  • Work closely with the Ontario team to enhance plant performance metrics.
  • Document transactions related to contract manufacturers and communicate findings to key stakeholders.
  • Conduct reconciliations for critical balance sheet accounts, including inventory and supplier balances.
  • Manage the tracking and reporting of capital expenditures and fixed assets across corporate and operational cost centers.
  • Contribute to the development of standard costing methodologies and practices.
Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Business with a focus on Finance or Accounting.
  • A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of finance, accounting principles, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
  • Experience with ERP systems, including SAP, IFS, JDE, or Deacom.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to perform complex data analysis.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement in processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering collaborative relationships.
  • Experience with automated accounting systems is essential; familiarity with Deacom is advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000, along with 401k, Medical, Vision & Dental benefits.
