Job Overview

Position: Accountant

Role Summary: Axis Automation, a leading provider of automated solutions, is looking for a dedicated Accountant to join our finance team. This full-time position will be based in our Walker, MI office and will report directly to the Accounting Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing month-end journal entries, conducting account reconciliations, and assisting with financial reporting and analysis within the Accounting Department, while collaborating with various operational teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute and manage month-end journal entries.
  • Oversee prepaids, fixed assets, and commission schedules.
  • Conduct monthly credit card reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are supported by appropriate documentation.
  • Prepare monthly project cost estimate worksheets for the project management team.
  • Generate weekly payroll journal entries.
  • Handle Accounts Receivable by creating customer invoices and statements, aiding in collection efforts, and processing customer payments.
  • Compile weekly check runs for management review.
  • Collaborate on various accounting projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with Google Suite; experience with ERP systems is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience or a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • Effective and professional communication skills.

Compensation: Competitive salary range of $55,000 to $70,000 annually, based on experience.
