Senior Director of Finance

The Senior Director of Finance is a key member of the Executive Management Team, responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the company's financial functions. This includes overseeing all financial activities, from transactional accounting to budgeting and planning, proposal development, insurance, tax reporting, and treasury/cash management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, cost accounting, payroll, billings, etc.
  • Oversee the preparation of the company's financial reports and ensure compliance with Government contracting requirements.
  • Manage the company's budgeting process and monitor budget performance, to include submission of Allowable Forward Pricing and Billing Rates to the US Government.
  • Ensure the organization's financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation.
  • Analyze the financial climate and market trends to assist senior executives in creating strategic plans for the future.
  • Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with the US Government's financial regulations and that all Government contract financial reporting is completed accurately and on time, to include the annual Incurred Cost Submission.
  • Work with Government auditors to ensure proper compliance with contract requirements.
  • Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization.
  • Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
  • Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets, and consolidation and reporting to the Company.
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX), GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
Requirements:
  • CPA or CMA designation is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business with strong accounting experience.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation.
  • Minimum of 10 years of financial experience and management experience with the day-to-day financial operations in a government contracting environment.
  • Strong understanding of FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and other relevant government regulations.
  • Proficient in government financial management systems.
  • Experience in partnering with an executive team.
