Immigration Benefits Adjudicator

This role is situated within the Field Operations Directorate, specifically in the Office of Field Operations.
As an Immigration Services Officer, your primary responsibility will be to evaluate intricate applications and petitions for immigration benefits. You will also assist various federal entities in recognizing individuals who may pose threats to national security and public safety.
Eligibility Criteria
- Career transition programs for federal employees who qualify as "surplus" or "displaced".
- Current employees within the agency.
Current employees of USCIS with competitive status are eligible to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct adjudication of complex and sensitive immigration applications and petitions.
- Research and interpret relevant laws, regulations, and precedents to inform decision-making.
- Interview applicants to gather information, assess credibility, and determine eligibility for immigration benefits.
- Perform security checks and collaborate with federal law enforcement to identify ineligible individuals.
- Utilize electronic systems for data verification and adjudicative decision-making.
Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
- Successful completion of a Background Investigation.
- Pass a drug screening.
- Submission of a resume and supporting documents is mandatory.
- Compliance with Selective Service registration for males born after a specified date.
Residency Requirement: Applicants must have resided in the U.S. for three of the last five years or have relevant federal employment overseas.
Probationary Period: A probationary period may be required.
