Position Overview

The Senior Vice President of Construction Operations is primarily tasked with delivering comprehensive strategic oversight and operational guidance for Dunhill. This role is pivotal in orchestrating and streamlining the decision-making framework of the advisory Board of Directors while executing Board directives, policies, and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent will:

  • Ensure the highest quality of service delivery across all company offerings to guarantee client satisfaction.
  • Oversee operational functions to optimize production efficiency, quality, service, and resource management.
  • Review and refine operational procedures, policies, and standards regularly.
  • Analyze activity reports and financial statements to assess progress towards objectives, adjusting plans as necessary based on current conditions.
  • Be accountable for the company's revenue growth and profitability.
  • Generate and manage all contracts and proposals, aiding in the successful closure of deals.
  • Mentor and guide Project Engineers/Managers to enhance operational capabilities and establish training and professional development goals.
  • Provide strategic direction to onsite project teams, reviewing periodic reports to identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Report operational challenges and project management outcomes to the President.
  • Prepare, manage, and oversee comprehensive budgets, schedules, and cost projections.
  • Coordinate monthly Work in Progress reports detailing project status, costs, change orders, and profitability.
  • Develop and implement a clear marketing strategy to enhance client relations and market presence.
  • Foster design-build capabilities through strategic partnerships.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 20 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 5-7 years in a senior leadership role.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management; a graduate degree or MBA is preferred.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills, with a focus on nurturing key relationships.
  • Integrity and a commitment to conducting business with the highest ethical standards.
  • Strong financial acumen, including P&L management, budgeting, and risk analysis capabilities.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution timing.
  • The ability to measure organizational performance using metrics while accommodating specific resource management needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities to engage effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • A commitment to excellence and a proven track record of leading teams to enhanced effectiveness.
