Compliance Controls Specialist

The Compliance Controls Specialist plays a crucial role within the Compliance Department, focusing on the assessment and improvement of the organization's internal control systems.
This position entails performing audits, evaluating potential risks, and offering insights to guarantee the integrity of the company's financial reporting, operational activities, and adherence to regulatory standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Conduct comprehensive audits of internal controls across multiple departments, emphasizing financial reporting, operational processes, and compliance with regulations.
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize risks related to internal controls, providing actionable recommendations to mitigate these risks and enhance control effectiveness.
- Review and assess the design and operational efficiency of internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Prepare detailed audit reports that summarize findings, identify control deficiencies, and suggest improvements. Present these findings to senior management and monitor the implementation of corrective measures.
- Ensure all internal controls comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies, while continuously monitoring their effectiveness.
- Collaborate with various departments to pinpoint opportunities for process enhancements and control improvements, offering guidance on best practices.
- Assist in the revision and updating of company policies and procedures related to internal controls, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards.
- Work closely with Compliance and Operations teams to maintain a unified approach to internal controls and risk management.
- Help develop training initiatives to educate employees on the significance of internal controls and their effective maintenance.
- Ensure all audit documentation, findings, and reports are accurately recorded and stored in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
High school diploma required, with a minimum of one year of experience in the financial services sector. Candidates should possess:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and capability to identify control weaknesses.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- High ethical standards and the capacity to manage sensitive information confidentially.
