POSITION SUMMARY:

The Compliance Controls Specialist plays a vital role within the Compliance Department, tasked with assessing and improving the efficiency of the organization's internal controls.

This position requires conducting thorough audits, evaluating potential risks, and offering strategic recommendations to ensure the integrity of the company's financial reporting, operational processes, and adherence to regulatory standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plan, execute, and document audits of internal controls across various departments, focusing on financial reporting, operational processes, and compliance with regulations.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize risks related to the company's internal controls, providing actionable recommendations to enhance control effectiveness.
  • Review and evaluate the design and operational efficiency of internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Prepare comprehensive audit reports detailing findings, control deficiencies, and recommendations, and present these to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance of internal controls with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies while monitoring their ongoing effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with different departments to identify opportunities for process enhancements and provide guidance on best practices for control implementation.
  • Assist in the review and update of company policies related to internal controls, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to the development of training programs aimed at educating employees on the significance of internal controls.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all audit work papers, findings, and reports in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the financial services sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to identify control weaknesses.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • High ethical standards and capability to manage sensitive information.
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS:

Health, dental, and vision benefits available after 30 days of employment, along with ancillary benefits including legal services and disability insurance. Employees receive 80 hours of PTO, 40 hours of Sick Pay, and paid holidays, in addition to a 401(k) plan available from the first day of employment.
