Job Title: Administrative Officer III

Job Summary:

The State of North Carolina is seeking a highly skilled Administrative Officer III to serve as the lead contracts consultant, manager, and monitor for all healthcare-related contracts and agreements. This position will be assigned within the Comprehensive Health Care Services Division's business office and will report to the business manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Play a major role in the creation of new contracts, edit/update existing agreements, and interface with both internal and external customers to determine contract requirements.
  • Serve as liaison to DAC purchasing and logistics, DAC IT, and the DAC claims processing vendor.
  • Provide comprehensive health and well-being services to offenders in custody, including emergent, acute, routine, and chronic health care, as well as preventive medicine.
  • Coordinate with specialists and other clinical consultants outside of prisons throughout the state to ensure comprehensive health and well-being services.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in personnel, budgeting, research, or administrative management.
  • Documented knowledge of contracting, managed care, and cost containment.
  • Documented knowledge of medical and hospital billing practices, insurance standards, and health care policies.
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing and interpreting policies and data management.
