Are you prepared to operate commercial motor vehicles locally and assist in delivering exceptional service? As a Logistics Operations Specialist, you will manage semi-trailer movements within the yard, oversee yard activities (including trailer check-ins, traffic management, and internal communications), conduct yard audits, complete driver training programs, and handle various vehicle types to enhance Amazon's transportation network.

This role is subject to DOT regulations, and an offer is contingent upon successfully passing a DOT-regulated pre-employment background check and physical examination.

To comply with interstate commerce regulations, candidates must be at least 21 years old. A valid state driver's license is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File (DQF) and Commercial Driver's License (CDL), adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize safety by adhering to company policies and regulations.
  • Support site operations teams and external carriers to ensure timely trailer arrivals and departures.
  • Operate Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on designated routes and within the yard.
  • Complete vehicle inspection reports and communicate any maintenance issues to management.
  • Follow delivery schedules, track working hours, and comply with safety protocols.
  • Work primarily outdoors, driving various commercial motor vehicles.
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks using approved equipment.
  • Lift up to 49 pounds and maintain physical activity throughout shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
  • Serve as a peer trainer as needed to support operational needs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Able to work 40 hours per week, with flexibility for overtime.
  • Willingness to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 49 pounds and perform various physical tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Possession of a Class A commercial driver's license (CDL).
  • Strong communication skills with diverse audiences.
  • Commitment to enforcing safety measures for all vehicle operators.
  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships with colleagues and vendors.
