Job Summary

The Environmental Sustainability Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the company's environmental policies and procedures are implemented and maintained across all facilities. This position will be responsible for conducting on-site fieldwork, sampling, monitoring, and recording environmental data, as well as preparing reports and plans required by regulatory permits and agreements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain company-wide environmental policies and procedures.
  • Conduct on-site fieldwork, including sampling, monitoring, and recording environmental data.
  • Prepare reports and plans required by regulatory permits and agreements.
  • Assist in the planning, design, installation, and operation of pollution control equipment and associated metering and/or measuring devices.
  • Deliver training programs and provide advice to operations management on environmental best practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide first-line environmental emergency responses to incidents, spills, releases, and accidents.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and assist with site investigations and remediation projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience in environmental regulations and sampling for testing air, water, soil, hazardous waste, and materials.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive an automobile.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and environmental management systems.
Working Conditions

This position requires an office and active field working environment, including collection of samples for testing, general information gathering, and project management at various locations. The ability to walk/climb in active industrial yards with uneven surfaces and to out-of-the-way areas is necessary. Occasional exposure to inclement weather conditions and travel is required.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Be mobile within an office and field environment.

  • Be mobile to travel frequently by auto and airplane to local and regional locations.
  • Climb.
  • Negotiate uneven surfaces.
  • Sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Keyboard for up to several hours per day.
  • Communicate in a professional manner in person and by phone.
