Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have direct reports.

ROLE SUMMARY:
Under minimal supervision, the Environmental Services Floor Supervisor is responsible for upholding environmental and infection control standards in accordance with established policies and procedures within a healthcare setting. This role involves coordinating staff to execute various cleaning tasks, ensuring the cleanliness of patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other designated areas. Additionally, the supervisor will manage the distribution and inventory of cleaning supplies, particularly Microfiber, across nursing floors. The position requires adherence to standard housekeeping practices and compliance with healthcare regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. *Oversees and directs assigned Environmental Services Technicians to ensure effective cleaning operations with a focus on infection control.

2. *Maintains a professional rapport with site Point of Contacts (POCs), including unit Custody Officers and medical personnel, ensuring services align with contractual obligations and addressing any service-related issues.

3. *Organizes and prioritizes tasks, ensuring compliance with procedures, regulations, and guidelines while minimizing errors and safety hazards.

4. *Participates in regular staff, leadership, committee, and offsite meetings, preparing necessary materials such as agendas and rosters.

5. *Trains and mentors both new and existing Environmental Services staff, ensuring adherence to proper procedures, processes, equipment usage, and supply management.

6. *Collaborates with Environmental Services Technicians to fulfill contractual duties.

7. *Ensures all required documentation is complete, accurate, and properly signed.

8. *Undertakes additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of six months to one year of experience in custodial services or building maintenance, including leadership roles. Experience with adults with developmental disabilities or physical challenges is preferred.

Knowledge of Cal OSHA and OSHA safety regulations; understanding of departmental operations and organizational policies; familiarity with specialized custodial equipment.

Proficient in computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.

Ability to effectively train staff in departmental practices and safety protocols.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present information and respond to inquiries from clients and colleagues.

Interpersonal skills to foster effective working relationships with staff and clients.

Proficient in business English, including vocabulary, spelling, and grammar.

Basic mathematical skills for calculations related to inventory and supplies.

Adaptability to changing work priorities; demonstrated leadership, organizational, reasoning, and analytical skills.

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This role necessitates the ability to maintain physical strength, agility, and endurance to perform effectively in stressful situations without compromising personal health or that of colleagues.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

CERTIFICATIONS:
Licenses or certifications may be required based on local, state, or contractual regulations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Employees must be capable of performing the following physical tasks for extended periods:

- Navigating the worksite effectively

- Standing and walking for prolonged periods

- Bending, kneeling, reaching, and stooping

- Lifting items weighing up to 35 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds occasionally

- Maneuvering equipment such as vacuums and carts

- Climbing ladders or step stools as necessary

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is situated within a healthcare facility with specific security and environmental control requirements. Employees may encounter confined spaces and aseptic areas, with potential exposure to various elements including dust, odors, and infectious materials. Work may also involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Employees may be required to work beyond standard hours as needed.
