The AWS Infrastructure Services team is responsible for the architecture, planning, execution, and maintenance of the global AWS infrastructure. We are the backbone that ensures the cloud remains operational.

Our team supports all AWS data centers, overseeing the servers, storage solutions, networking, power, and cooling systems that guarantee uninterrupted access to the innovations our clients depend on.

We tackle complex challenges, navigating thousands of variables that influence the supply chain, and we are in search of skilled individuals eager to contribute.

As part of a diverse group of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain experts, security professionals, operations managers, and other essential roles, you will collaborate with colleagues across AWS to uphold the highest standards of safety and security while delivering virtually limitless capacity at the most competitive cost for our clients.

Experience a welcoming culture that embraces innovative ideas and empowers you to see them through to fruition.

The AWS Risk and Resilience team plays a crucial role in datacenter site selection by conducting thorough technical assessments of potential datacenter locations to identify liabilities, site development challenges, and operational risks.

We are currently seeking an acoustic engineer to conduct sound and vibration modeling for future AWS infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and assessing potential risks to sensitive receivers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all facets of technical sound assessments and collaborate with team members to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Model anticipated sound levels from datacenter equipment (proficiency in CadnaA or SoundPLAN is required) and assess vibration on a project-specific basis.
  • Conduct ambient sound level measurements and/or equipment source assessments using a Type 1 or Type 2 sound level meter.
  • Evaluate whether expected sound and vibration levels adhere to applicable standards and assess risks to sensitive receivers.
  • Identify and outline necessary mitigating measures.
  • Document findings and summarize any identified risks related to project timelines, costs, or feasibility.
Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in program or project management.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing confidential information.
  • Proven experience in defining program requirements and utilizing data and metrics to drive improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in program requirements definition and leveraging data and metrics for improvement.
  • Professional auditing qualifications or similar risk or compliance credentials.
  • Experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or related fields.
